Welcome to the Substance Use Research Hub
At the Substance Use Research Hub (The Hub), we are dedicated to conducting research related to health equity, harm reduction, and stigma reduction to create healthier and inclusive communities. The Hub is committed to centring the voices of people with living experience as co-researchers.
The Hub is based out of Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, which is on the traditional and ancestral lands of Fort William First Nation Signatory to the Robinson-Superior Treaty of 1850. The Hub is committed to conducting research in a good way and conducting research ethically by adhering to the First Nations principles of Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession (OCAP®).
What are we involved in?

Research
The Hub is involved with a number of research projects supported by community, provincial and federal funders. Research at The Hub includes people with living experience, undergraduate and graduate students community partners and researchers. The Research page highlights current projects and areas of interest.

Digital Stories
Digital storytelling (DST) is an innovative qualitative research approach amplifying the voice of people often not listened to. The digital stories page brings statistics to life through storytellers voices and insights, and highlights the life saving measures and the impact of the closure of safer supply programs.
